Retrace
Retrace (“we”, “our”, “us”) is designed to be simple and privacy-first. This Privacy Policy explains what information Retrace collects, how it is used, and the choices you have.
Information We Collect
Location Data
- Retrace may collect approximate location (COARSE location) only when you choose to save a spot.
- Retrace does not collect location in the background.
- Retrace does not continuously track your location.
Saved Content
- Spots you create may include location coordinates, timestamps, and any optional fields you enter (such as title, notes, and tags).
- All of this content is stored locally on your device by default.
Analytics (Optional)
- If you enable analytics, Retrace collects anonymous usage events (for example: screen views, button taps, and crash/error signals) to improve app reliability and user experience.
- No location data is included in analytics events.
- Analytics does not collect the content of your saved spots (titles/notes/tags).
How We Use Information
- Location data is used only to save spots you create and to show them back to you.
- Analytics events (if enabled) are used only to improve app performance, stability, and usability.
- Retrace does not use your data for advertising or selling data profiles.
Sharing of Information
- Retrace does not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties.
- If you choose to use a “Share” feature, Retrace will share only what you explicitly choose to share (for example, a maps link).
Data Storage & Retention
- Saved spots are stored locally on your device by default.
- Retrace retains saved spots until you delete them or uninstall the app.
Your Choices
- You can delete saved spots at any time from within the app.
- You can disable analytics in the app settings (if analytics is available).
- You can revoke location permission at any time in your device settings.
Security
Retrace uses standard Android platform security features to help protect your information. No method of storage is 100% secure, but we aim to use reasonable safeguards.
Children’s Privacy
Retrace is not designed to knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us and we will take appropriate steps.
